I had to go as soon as possible when she called me, so my suitcase was packed and ready, and in a couple of small groups I explained to people that I wouldn't ordinarily leave my phone on, but my sister was the only one who had my cell number and she would only call it if she needed me to come. I know someone who lost a promotion because his phone rang during the interview, and he took the call. I had business meetings with him in which his phone would ring, and he always took it, not seeming to realize the inappropriateness of taking a call and making the other person sit twiddling her thumbs until your call is over. That would be handy. Wouldn't solve this problem, as it sounds like he's doing it on purpose or being really dumb, but it would be a nice feature.
