Very nicely done. Very educational.

I had seen this before (and sent it to all my friends).
I would just love to see the next 100 years in that format.

Well done. I noticed these myths have infested our entire planet. It will take centuries to undo all the damage.

Which reminds me…remember when McDonald’s had the guarantee of “60 seconds or less” on the drive through? They put up those digital clocks to count the number of seconds. It was a disaster. The clocks (and the guarantee) disappeared faster than the McRib sandwich.

You say “disappearing McRib” like it’s a bad thing…
The ebb and flow of Christianity and Islam in Africa is particularly interesting. As is the complete lack of Scientology coverage.

And probably more history than many high school seniors know!

For simplicity sake they seem to have assumed Christianity as the default religion in many regions which still have an active adherance to aborginal faiths — northern Canada and Russia and the interior of Africa and south America

What was interesting to me was that for all the other religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism) it was BIRTH of some person that marked the birth of the religion, but Christianity alone, it was the DEATH of a person that marked the birth of the religion. Think about it.
I also think it was slighly misleading to show Christianity covering the whole of the USSR area up until year 2000. I guess HRW noticed a similar thing also in other areas, although atheism (at least officially) is what I was thinking about for the USSR.
As for Rob Hays comment: the map is not detailed enough to show the dominant religion in a small part of Hollywood, CA!

Also interesting that the banner ad at the top of the page was for a movie called The God Who Was Not There.

It is an eye opener to realize that the worldwide spread of Christianity was the result of a fairly recent missions movement.
By comparison, the Crusades did practically nothing to advance Christianity and succeeded only in pushing Islam to the south where it is now ravaging Africa.
It is also fascinating that the near universal hatred of Jews is against a tiny people who rarely even show up on the map.

The eye opener for me was the total infestation of our planet with worthless myths.

#13 You already said that.

That’s a myth.

kBells, old people sometimes repeat themselves. Memory is the 2nd thing old people lose. I forget what the 1st thing is.

It’s treatment of Judaism was quite lacking; nothing depicting the exodus, exile or diaspora.
