By comparison, the Crusades did practically nothing to advance Christianity and succeeded only in pushing Islam to the south where it is now ravaging Africa. It is also fascinating that the near universal hatred of Jews is against a tiny people who rarely even show up on the map. It is an eye opener to realize that the worldwide spread of Christianity was the result of a fairly recent missions movement.

Think about it. I also think it was slighly misleading to show Christianity covering the whole of the USSR area up until year 2000. I guess HRW noticed a similar thing also in other areas, although atheism (at least officially) is what I was thinking about for the USSR. As for Rob Hays comment: the map is not detailed enough to show the dominant religion in a small part of Hollywood, CA!
