Blog hospitality
In reference to Lynn’s post just below, can you all let us know about any other religious and/or Christian blogs that host (mostly) civil discussion when when dealing with divisive issues, including ones that are welcoming to the non-Christian commenter? Also, do you know about any blogs run by non-Christian groups that are engaging and welcoming to Christians? You get the idea. We’d like to know what else is out there, and you all seem very well-informed.

At the risk of being shamelessly self-promoting, that’s one of my main priorities at http://www.thinkingchristian.net, and non-Christians have let me know they feel welcome and respected there in spite of our disagreeing on issues.

allthingsbeautiful is a great blog run by a conservative Christian that has a few regular trolls but is otherwise populated with a number of very intelligent posters.
Alexandra has to monitor it pretty carefully, and deletes quite a few of the hateful (donato, ed, lester, night train when he gets ticked, those types) posts. the leftists there are usually at least civil (though irritating), like Musing.

amazinggreycity.wordpress.com is the blog of the teaching pastor at Country Bible Church (a fundamental, evangelical, exposition-style of preaching, conservative church.)
He is passionate, courageous, learned and explains/discusses things (Christian issues or not) in words and ways that are easy to follow.

I don’t take part in any other religious discussion blogs at the moment. but I will say I greatly appreciate the ability to engage in honest debate here, and I am highly impressed by the lack of flames, personal attacks and juvenile insults that mar too many discussion sites (whether about religion or not.)
You have a very high caliber of people posting here, and even those I disagree with completely I find are almost always civil and cordial and able to keep a debate centered on ideas and issues.
That is really something you can take justified pride in. It’s a rare thing.

This is not a Christian oriented site. It is run by an LA prosecutor and has guests, mostly in the legal profession. He takes on the media, especially the LA Times. The site is conservative and friendly to evangelicals but wide open to all.
He has led civil discussions on a range of topics, including abortion. Illegal immigration also figures prominently.
