That seems to be a general assumption on your part. I was looking for more real life story telling from the person who was there. It is the difference between Sunday School-type answers, and struggling with real life situations. Real life stories are instructional in a different way than general assumptions. Kind of like Frank Schaeffer's Crazy For God was instructional.

Psalm Singer - Back to your original question. God knew Adree's comment was trash and the Holy Spirit told her so.

Parker,

I have no interest in trying to disprove a matter of your faith.Nor is there a burden of proof upon me to do so. Your faith is between you and God. I thank you for your concern for my soul, and politely note that its status is a matter between me and the Creator. Scare tactics regarding eternal damnation, Parker, are for children and have been used mythologically thousands of years before Abraham. I appreciate that you feel obligated to share with me your version of the good news and you are incorrect to think I will argue it with you.

Your point that there are thousands of years of the sacred book and million of believers is unpersuasive. The same can be said for Judaism, Islam, Buhdism, Hinduism, Wicca and so forth. Are you honsestly suggesting that a person should be swyed just because other people are?

(Apologies to all for the rampant typos)

Mommy, Outkast, thanks. I pray that PsalmSinger has made a human mistake and is more than a mere righteous moralist.

Outkast and Peter,
I was actually trying to understand the particulars of the interaction between the two women. I don't generalize. Thanks for the scoop on Andree.

I was a 70's "Jesus Freak" in southern California - had no problem telling anyone and everyone about "Jesus" (not the bible, or the church, etc.). Had long hair and beard (looked the part), etc., and regularly went street witnessing, etc. Converted quite a few!

Unfortunately, I was also a few steps removed from reality.

Psalm: Andree does not hang around this blog to respond to questions posed to her on threads, so asking questions of her is pointless.

And being rude to someone (Peter) who attempts to help answer your question is shameful as well.

I have witnessed to people on planes before. I know much how Andree feels, and admire her for her integrity. Coyoteblue, you should try some new arguments if you are wanting to disprove the Christian gospel, the message that Jesus died in YOUR place, demonstating God's love for you (Rom 5:8), so you wouldn't have to go to an eternal hell when you die. It's appointed for man once to die then to face judgment. You might sound clever now, but what will you do when you stand in the prescence of almight YHWH? No more games then. But if Coyoteblue will believe in Jesus the Messiah, you will not perish but have everlasting life (Jn 3:16).
With the thousands of years of testimony to the truth of the Bible's message, and the personal testimony of millions of believers, the burden of proof is upon you my friend.

StuBob

Actually my curiousity would get the better of me and I would ask if she had presented on his humanity or on his Godhood or both. Or if I knew she was a psychologist I might be inclined to ask if she thought Jesus' family had a difficult time dealing with him something like that. Someone saying the name Jesus to me isn't like the boogeyman and certainly doesn't lay down a guantlet -- unless the person has gone all fire and brimstone preachy. Viserally, because of my upbringing, I don't hear that much difference between Bible and Jesus. I am likely an exception on that score.

Looks like PsalmSinger needs to read a few more Psalms and come back when he/she can behave more politely. Whoever you are, you make us [Christians] all look bad when you respond so rudely and I, personally, resent it.
