Ketchup Queen is kinda funny! One of the most painful moments of the ‘04 campaign for me was her arrogant speech at the Dem convention in Boston. She gets up there and starts bragging about her ability to speak 5 languages, and generally coming across very pompous, rich and foreign. I think she connected with approximately 15 women in the country that night. Uggghhhh. They wisely hid her on the supermarket shelf after that, behind some generic ‘catsup’ brands.

It was a shame, since I had been really pumped up for Kerry that week, having bumped into him randomly on the street in Nantucket the previous Sunday afternoon before the convention.

Michelle, politicians are like bad pennies.

Victoria, I have to admit that I agree with you yet again: I didn’t like Kerry, but I really didn’t like his wife and didn’t want her to be First Lady. Laura Bush has been excellent in that position.

I agree with Travis’ assessment in No. 6. No one cares about Kerry’s endorsement, but they will about Al Gore. Wouldn’t it be interesting if he gives it to Obama?!

I don’t think Senator Obama or Senator Clinton will consider Edwards as a running mate. What would Edwards bring them? They’ll opt for someone fresher. Perhaps a governor or senator who can deliver a key state, or shore up a week part of their demographic. For example, perhaps Obama picks someone more seasoned in foreign policy. Or either one opts for someone who has roots in Florida or Ohio – key swing states.

Edwards just has way too much baggage to be the VP choice this go around. He has the stigma of being Kerry’s second banana in ‘04 (a loser to Bush), and the further stigma of being a rapidly fading bronze medalist this primary season. I’ll be very surprised and disappointed if he’s considered.

The only one that cares about Komrad Koward Kerry is him. Edwards is the key. Hillary needs either him or Obama as a running mate but Obama doesn’t want Hillary as his for sure – Edwards is the best fit for him.

I used to think it would be Hillary/Obama as the Dim ticket but I now think Obama will beat her and it will be Obama / Edwards instead. It would be much, much better for the right if it were Hillary / Edwards though – so pray for that instead

It’s still a long way to go though and anything can happen with plenty enough time for prayers to be answered.

I can top that, Travis. I voted for Michael Dukakis in 1988.

Of course, I have the excuse that I wasn’t a Christian at the time…

Kerrey endorsement is a slight edge to Clinton, but generally it will have no effect.

Kerry’s viewed as a stiff, has-been, flip-flopping, loser. Emphasis on has-been. Emphasis on loser. And yes, I voted for him in ‘04.

Really, as if any Dem candidate gives a donkey’s behind who Kerrey endorses? I don’t suppose the GOP candidates are anxiously waiting for the coveted Bob Dole endorsement either.

It will be interesting to see who Mr. Gore will endorse. His name carries several orders of magnitude more cache than Kerrey’s does. NOBEL LAUREATE! GRAMMY WINNER! Good thing he’s waiting a little longer to provide his endorsement this time (he endorsed Howard Dean in 03/04!)

Komrad Koward Kerry doesn’t want to be VP and release his military records which will prove him to be pathological liar about his Vietnam military record. He also knows that when Edwards drops out, he will likely get behind Obama or Hillary and have have something they both want and need to beat each other – Edwards primary delegates he will have won. That is why Edwards will stay in as long as possible.

He would most likely like to be on an Obama ticket since his delegates will put Obama way ahead of Hillary for the nomination and Obama has the best chance of beating a republican since half the country doesn’t hate him, but Hillary will want them too to keep her way in front of Obama. It just depends who pays him off the most but he will the VP no matter who wins the nomination – a good place to be in if you ask me.
