It seems France will hear wedding bells in the near future: French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his girlfriend, model-turned-singer Carla Bruni, are expected to wed early next month. Although mostly mum on the subject, Sarkozy told reporters at a news conference, “There is a strong chance that you will learn about it after it’s already done.”

Sarkozy met Bruni shortly after his wife, Cécilia, divorced him three months ago. Some–especially the French–are wondering at the speed of the relationship, which may explain in part why Sarkozy’s approval rating has dropped.
