The Florida and Michigan sagas continue
Florida Democrats have given up on a mail-in ballot as an option for a primary re-do in the state. What happens next with the delegates from the Sunshine state will be up to the DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee. Hillary Clinton backers, of course, want the results from January’s primary, which Clinton won, to be counted, while Barack Obama backers want a “fair seating of the Florida delegates” and a do-over.
Meanwhile in Michigan, state legislative leaders are moving closer to setting up a privately funded, state-administered do-over primary on June 3. Maybe once they have it all figured out, they should head south and offer their assistance to Florida.

Glad to see the resurgence of States’ Rights Democrats in Fla and Michigan was successfully nipped in the bud, brought to heel etc.
That the national party leaders were so eager to change rules in the game’s middle does say a lot about them, no??

Sawgunner, are you aware that the reason these two states are an issue is that they moved their primaries up on the calendar in defiance of the national party?
Once they did that, the national leaders decided their delegates wouldn’t be allowed to vote at the convention, since they were chosen in a way that violated the national party’s intentions.
And because the candidates had the understanding that those states wouldn’t count, they didn’t campaign the way they normally would have. Obama wasn’t even on the ballot in Michigan.

Don’t confuse Sawgunner with the facts.

Bummer in Michigan: the word out is that there will be no do-over. For those of us who wanted to vote for some ONE, rather than “None-of-the-above” it is a disappointment.
