If a site is a repetitive disaster scene I agree any aid should be contingent upon a move. However, if its a freak once a century storm, I would disagree.

The sub prime mortgage crisis has its origins in an ideology of deregulation, open markets and greed. I have more sympathy for the people who signed into these contracts than for the banks who created them and now find themselves with defaulted loans.

Sadly the American tax payer keeps getting put on the hook financially for all sorts of evil doers, swindlers, liars, cheats and stupid idiots (ones that keep building in hazard areas).

The other day a woman was complaining that she didn't know if she could recover this time after being wiped out in a flood that had devastated her house for the 3rd time in 30 years - once ever 10 years. Each time the Government had declared he r home a disaster area available for rebuilding grants and low interest loans.

She was 3 times worse than the fools in New Orleans that lived under sea level for decades before being wiped out once.

I've had it with all of them and none get my sympathy since they are just playing me for patsy. The only victims are those stupid enough to foot the bills.

Personal accountability and responsibility went out the door as soon as irrational, misguided and insane compassion came walking through it.

The Fed bails out wall street claiming Bear Stearns will cause a domino financial meltdown and the lefty politicians say OK - if you bail out wall street we will bail out main street. Only the crooks cheats and liars are saved while, innocent are punished. We have all gone insane.

That remimds me of another psalm, though the reference escapes me at the moment. (Most Biblical resources are blocked at work) The paraphrase, however, is as follows:

"God, give me understanding that I may live."

That's why I love Ps 95, so ("Venite" in the BCP), and the line from verse 10:

Oh, that today, you would hearken to his voice.

We will never hear the warning entirely clear, but may we still hear enough to heed.
