We have two children ages nearly 3 and nearly 1 who may be joining our family from Tajikistan. Their mother was murdered by her husband so the children are with their grandmother who does not want them. She will release them to their aunt who is our “foster daughter” who is in the US on a student visa. She is married and has a 2 year old and a 1 month old.

Please keep this situation in your prayers. Getting visas and passports for these kids is going to be tricky.

Chas, Brownies made with Fat-free yogurt is a great way to complete a “healthy” TV dinner, as well. Especially if you add some ice cream and raspberries.

My 16-year-old pointed out to me this evening (when we were discussing how long until he is an “adult”) that he really has been alive for almost 17 years, counting the time in the womb.

So maybe they were just using an alternative method of calculating age.

Once again, we were bueracratically (is that a word?) mislead. The new kids are not two and four, they are one and three. I just got older. In our experience, they do this. I suspect people don’t want a troubled person walking around but a carried one is okay. So they exaggerate the ages until you are snagged. We would have taken them anyway, the kids are excited and so are we.

I just learned why those so-called “healthy” frozen dinners are so healthy.
There’s nothing good in them.
There’s not enough of it.
So, you finish off dinner with oatmeal cookies, which defeats the purpose of the “healthy meal”.
