She dedicated her life to the God of the Jews. I can't help but read Ruth through a Messianic lens. A Gentile is brought into the Jewish household of faith where she meets her Kinsman Redeemer who grants her the inheritance a nearer (Jewish) kin rejected. The book of Ruth illuminates so much of the Torah and how the Messiah would fulfill it. Jesus the Messiah leaps off of every page of the Old Testament. (Gal 3:24) On a personal level, Ruth’s dedication is an example for us all. She dedicated her life to the God of the Jews.
