Cyclone death toll climbs
The death toll continues to climb in Myanmar after Cyclone Nargis hit the nation early Saturday. The state radio is reporting that more than 22,000 are dead and more than 41,000 are still missing.
“From the reports we are getting, entire villages have been flattened and the final death toll may be huge,” Mac Pieczowski, who heads the International Organization for Migration office in Yangon, said in a statement.
Let us not forget to remember the nation and its victims in our prayers.

I suppose I should pray but……I wonder when the accusations that we’re not responding quick enough or sending enough money will start?

Make It Man,
That is why the very first thing the US government did in order to deflect any and all attacks, Laura Bush and not President Bush, went live on TV and radio to call on this vile and despicable Military Junta to put their insanity aside for one moment and let America help them any way we can – no questions asked.

Llama,
You’re forgetting that it’s Bush’s fault in the first place.

MIM–Apparently the accusations are already starting, at least judging from headlines faulting Myanmar–or whoever–for giving NO WARNING.
We apparently cannot stop finding fault long enough to step back, mourn, and send in help.

Al Gore’s using it to advance his agenda too. Didn’t take long.

The SUN TIMES, London
THE death toll in cyclone-ravaged Burma could hit 500,000 – more than TWICE the total killed by the Boxing Day Tsunami.
There is a Video as well.
