Klasko - Yes, I agree. If I'd had more time when I wrote my previous comment, I would have mentioned that the events surrounding the fall of Jerusalem could have been a "type", or picture, of a coming tribulation. Many events & symbols in the OT, I'm sure you know, were "types" of Christ, the Holy Spirit, or things to come.

Why does everyone in Christendom believe that there has to be one definitive answer? It seems to me that prophecy often has more than one application. Scripture, especially prophecy is like an onion - it has many layers of meaning, none of which are mutually exclusive. The problem lies in a theologen or charismatic leader or denomination latching onto a particular interpretation as dogma. I believe that there is meaning in prophecy relevant to every generation.

Kimberly - But take a look at Job. Satan, our accuser, reported to the throne to accuse Job.

I recently read through Revelation again, keeping in mind the opinions of those who say that it is about the events surrounding the fall of Jerusalem. But it just seemed to me that there were too many things in it that pointed further into the future.

Well, it'll be interesting when we get to Heaven to find out what it really is all about.

I second both Klasko's post, and John M.'s.

The importance is to be ready and watching, also because we don't know when our personal 'end times' will come. This thought came home to me because last week, a healthy young mother in her 20's in my church almost died from an allergic reaction to an antibiotic. Fortunately her husband happened to be home at the time, and they were able to keep her alive long enough to be airflighted to a University Hospital where she recovered after 2 days in intensive care.

I don't have anything brilliant to say about this, but that's a very charming picture that accompanies the post.

The driving force in history is God and His plan for us. We're certainly in that time when good has become evil and evil good on a large scale.

Spinoza, I watched your video, and I must tell you that I love those dogs! One of my favorite movies is "The Last Place on Earth" the video version of the book about Scott and Amundsen. As you probably know, the dogs were heroes!

One of these days, the faithful who are watching and praying and making note of current events to see how they square with prophecy will be right.

As the day draws nearer, the understanding becomes clearer.

Just saying...
