LLama, that is simply the best post you've had here. (#17) I appreciate that and also your demented sense of humor.

By the way, how does one actually become a llama?

Below is an excerpt from a May 12th Michael Barone op-ed titled, "Rethinking Iraq's Critics." It is one more answer to the "Bush lied; people died" mantra:

"The claim is that 'neocons,' including Feith, politicized intelligence to show that Saddam Hussein's regime had weapons of mass destruction. Not so, as the Senate Intelligence Committee and the Silberman-Robb Commission have concluded already. Every intelligence agency believed Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, and the post-invasion Duelfer report concluded that he maintained the capability to produce them on short notice. There was abundant evidence of contacts between Saddam's regime and al-Qaida and other terrorist groups. Given Saddam's hostility to the United States and his stonewalling of the United Nations, American leaders had every reason to believe he posed a grave threat. Removing him removed that threat."

(Feith is the author of the recent book, "War and Decision.")

My children do not use the phrase "it isn't fair." However, each has said it a few times in the past and then promptly learned that they don't want fair.
When my oldest daughter was 5 or 6 she got into the habit of saying "that's not fair." One day I aske her if she wanted things to be fair. She, of course, replied "yes." I showed her the washing machine and told her it wasn't fair that mommy had to wash her clothes. When she asked what was for dinner I told her what mommy and daddy were having. It wouldn't be fair to make me prepare her dinner, so i didn't know what she was going to eat. You get the picture. Anyway, within a short time she came to me and said that she didn't want things to be fair anymore and I agreed. My 2nd child was 4 at the time and was able to learn from her sister's lesson. The 3rd child did not have that benefit. One day (when she was about 5) she started in on it's not fair. I asked if she wanted it to be fair. her older sisters started shouting st her that she really didn't, but she insisted on fairness. She caught on with the first mini-lesson, though. My youngest child is 5 and I am just waiting for her to start in. However, since she hasn't grown up with whining, demanding sister's maybe she won't get the lesson- maybe it is already learned.

Who made the rules below for school children to rememnber always?

Rule 1: Life is not fair, was never meant to be fair and it has never, ever been fair. Get used to it! If you want fair, that would be death.

Rule 2 : The world won't and does not care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3 : You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4 : If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5 : Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault or your teachers' fault your, so don't whine about your mistakes or blame them on others, learn from them instead!

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes fixing your meals and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television and computer games are NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the beach, coffee shop or sofa and go to jobs - where they are required to work very hard.

PeterL,

You have to dream and hope that something changes in the future where they will be able to automatically deposit it in your bank account somehow without them knowing what the bank or account number is. This gives new meaning to what is is.

Could be a sting operation too :-)

#10 Hopesprings,

No harm no foul. I can't even get some of them when I use Google!! Pretty pathetic really.

There was one question that I actually knew, the only time too, and I knew it as soon as read it but I didn't get to read it until late at night.

Still, one day, a future question is going to be about the other thing I know and I hope not to be too senile by then to have forgotten that too. :-)
