Ted Kennedy is undergoing surgery today at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C., for his cancerous brain tumor. He will then have to face chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Please remember him and his family in your prayers.

Dearest Father in heaven, we pray for Senator Kennedy. We ask that you guide and direct the surgeon’s hand and help Senator Kennedy recover quickly that he may spend more time with his wife and family. We ask that you touch the Senator and draw him to yourself. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Yes, we pray for him.
Let us also note with a sense of irony that his treatment at such a prestigious medical center would not be possible for most people under the universal health care Senator Kennedy and others would foist upon us.

Please, don’t take this as an attack on Joe B. and others, but what is the purpose of “praying” through a post on WMB? Why not just pray in the privacy of your own home?

I’ve noticed that it is fairly common for people to offer their prayers on here, but I’ve never understood why. Any help?

I wondered that as well when first reading prayers on here. But then I realized that it was another tool to get me praying and it helps me to know that others are praying as well, along the same lines. Similar to praying in a group, I wonder why people pray aloud. But then I realize that their prayers are actually adding to mine, helping me to fill mine out. I now think it is a good thing. A twig on the tree of the fellowship of believers.

I think good outcome or not, this tireless old liberal warhorse should step down for new blood to occupy the seat.
Will that happen? Naw. To the libs, Teddy is their very own keep-him-there-no-matter-what Strom Thurmond.
I will throughout this day think of Edward the Lesser and his sugical procedure and recovery. Skilled hands and a speedy recovery.

And let us not forget on 4 June 68, Ted’s brother Robert was gunned down by a loco Palestinian dishwasher in Los Angeles CA.
