Saved! on Broadway
I’m sure you’ve all heard of the movie Saved, from several years ago (here’s a good, thoughtful review from Critique). Well, Saved is now Saved: the Musical. Read a review here, and listen to clips of some of the “praise music” written for the film, along with a slideshow of scenes, here.

I think Saved is an incredibly important film, and absolutely worth seeing (and that really is a great review HSK links to). I’m just not sure that the importance of the film will translate to the musical.
If by some freak accident Saved: the Musical boldly comes to the South, I’d be tempted to see it.

If it’s Christians satirizing ourselves you’re looking for, you might want to check out Douglas Wilson’s Evangellyfish (once it gets published, that is.)

I found the movie moderately entertaining. It hit some off notes, but given the genre and all, I was expecting a vicious anti-religion diatribe and it was far from that.
