Leading ladies
Next year our nation will have not two, but three influential new leaders. While two will attain their new positions of power by the voice of the people, the third will get the job based simply on marital connections.
They’re not elected. They’re not paid. There’s no precise job description.
But whether it’s an elegantly dressed Jacqueline Kennedy giving Americans a tour of the White House, Eleanor Roosevelt speaking on civil rights or Hillary Clinton saying “I suppose I could have stayed home and baked cookies,” first ladies are praised, criticized, adored and scorned — but never ignored.
And these leading ladies wield tremendous power in how the world judges their husbands. What impact have Cindy McCain and Michelle Obama had on their husbands’ campaigns thus far–positive, negative, neutral? And who do you think would make the better first lady?

Cindy McCain is an ideal choice with her business experience. While I’m sure Michelle Obama is perfectly cordial, she just can’t keep her foot out of her mouth.

Cindy McCain’s business experience?
She inherited her money.
Michelle Obama is perfectly cordial?
I wouldn’t want to cross her.

Obama’s wife is no asset to his campaign. I haven’t seen much of McCain’s wife (perhaps because has been ignoring the GOP while they work to deify Obama for the unwashed masses – they’ll get into full attack mode on the GOP soon)

“Obama’s wife is no asset to his campaign”
No she isn’t. I wonder how many people have read what she has written or paid attention to what she has said — realizing the seriousness of her remarks, without covering them up with whipped cream and sprinkles.

Mrs Obama–for all her talk about hardships then and now– grew up to earn good degrees from Ivy League universities. She is a well-paid hospital executive. Her husband was the abandoned son of a deadbeat Kenyan daddy; Barack’s nutty white gal single mom raised him.
In a way if the Obamas do get into the WH will that not severely impair the grievance industry and its victimocrat advocates in the Dem party, NAACP etc etc??

Sawgunner – Those things might be worth havong him win, if we knew the country would survive his presidency (and if he weren’t going to be appointing 2 to 4 Supreme Court Justices).

YOU WRITE:…. “Cindy McCain’s business experience? She inherited her money.”
It takes an intelligent woman to keep what she has inherited. Cindy has also done extensive work in her charitable organizations.
About Cindy McCain
As an advocate for children’s health care needs, Cindy founded and ran the American Voluntary Medical Team (AVMT) from 1988 to 1995. AVMT provided emergency medical and surgical care to impoverished children throughout the world. Cindy led 55 medical missions to third world and war-torn countries during AVMT’s seven years of existence. On one of those missions, Mother Teresa convinced Cindy to take two babies in need of medical attention to the United States. One of those babies is now their adopted daughter, 16-year-old Bridget McCain.
In recent years, three organizations in particular have been the subject of her international focus: HALO, Operation Smile, and CARE.
In addition to her humanitarian work, Cindy is the chairman of her family’s business, Hensley & Company, which is one of the largest Anheuser-Busch distributors in the nation.
Her formal education includes an undergraduate degree in Education and a Master’s in Special Education from the University of Southern California. As a student, Cindy participated in pilot programs testing Movement Therapy, which is now a widely accepted standard for working with severely disabled children. After receiving her degrees from USC, she began her teaching career at Agua Fria High School in Arizona where she continued her work with disabled children.
Cindy resides in Phoenix with her husband, U.S. Senator John McCain. Together, they have four children: Meghan, Jack, Jimmy, and Bridget.

Do any of you know of any charitable organizations that Michelle has ‘given’ her time without being paid for it?
I have done hours of research, next to NOTHING is mentioned regarding Michelle’s childhood, or if she ever attended church before Trinity. It’s as if her whole life started just before she went to Princeton.
Very interesting.
