Our younger son may have found a decent apartment in an acceptable neighborhood for an affordable price. It may even be close enough to his job to walk to work.

NJL: We’ve gone there every year except one since 1979. Our boys (and now our dil) love it. Last year, for the first time since they were born, we went without them (they had various reasons for not being able to go), but now swear they will never miss again. So all five of us are headed that way and will be there until Wednesday. I’ll think about you as we enjoy the beach and a Kohr’s (I’ll be you know what that is).

A violent storm this past week took out a 60 ft tree in my back yard. It cost me $938.00 to get it taken out, and I still have several feet of saw dust to haul away!

Rave: Yesterday was our 4th anniversary, and tonight my wife and I are celebrating with dinner at our favorite restaurant. We only go to this restaurant once a year (because of the cost) and it’s the only time when we hold nothing back regarding expense
Rave: My wife had another good checkup at the doctor this week (she’s 28 weeks pregnant now). It’s been a great pregnancy so far.
Rant: I’ve been a nervous wreck this pregnancy because my wife got really sick during and after the delivery of our first child. Thankfully it was the 38th week when we had to deliver her, so I’m praying that this time we will be able to make it that late.

Rant: Republicans killed off the democrat plan to release 10% of the oil stored in the National Reserve. I know that the Socialists are rarely right about anything economic and they were not this time either since the reason they wanted to release the oil was crazy but it should have been done to break the speculators backs once and for all. We got 20% out but another 15% drop in oil prices could have been achieved and the speculators would be very wary in to manipulate this and other commodity markets like they have done since the democrats took over the government. You have to give the left credit when due even if they were doing it for all the wrong reasons.
Rant: The idiots Dems are now going to bail out the housing market. This completes the left’s plan to create a crisis so they could step in and nationalize / socialize the investment banking, banking and / mortgage markets in the USA.
This is biggest power grab for Marxists and Socialists since FDR and The Depression. They have learned that if they can make things appear to be horrible economically through their propaganda machine called the main stream media and convince weak minded Americans that the world is ending and we are back in 1930 again. Then they will be allowed, under this smoke an mirrors cover, to destroy the free market system, capitalism and businesses they hate so much as they institute state ownership and control over everything in your life.
You elected these idiots and now you will pay. If Obama is elected and they get 60 seats in the Senate to override any filibuster, they will then do their very best to nationalize the oil, energy and drug industries next since these have always been on their hit list.
This shouldn’t surprise you since they have been up front about it. They will do their best to destroy WalMart too. They want you to wait for years for poor health care as they restrict it and tax it. They want you pay $8 for a gallon for gasoline and huge energy bills to heat and cool your home as they restrict the supply and tax it. This week the socialist idiots proposed raising the tax on gasoline and diesel fuel again – they have no shame. They want you lose your job and keep unemployment high so you too will dependent on them.
This is exactly what the Socialists in Europe have done to stay in power and the left here snaps to attention when their master call. Yesterday, Obama spoke to 200,000 German Socialists who cheered every time Obama told them how horrible America was, how America was the cause of all the worlds ills and how right his Socialist slave masters in Europe were- in all things. It was an amazing performance of the most powerful Marxist in the world who is on the cusp of bringing America to its knees. Not even Oprah could whip up that kind of enthusiasm for Obama
Surely you didn’t miss that staged spectacle where he promised that the days of the Old America are over and that he would single handedly force America to change it’s ways. That he would lead us to a backseat of Supreme Global Socialism once and for all – where Marxists and Socialists in Europe would no longer fear America’s greatness or see America and it’s free market capitalism, freedom and individual opportunity as a dominate threat. He promised that America will no longer no longer lead a free world. We will follow Europe, do what they say, be their slaves – and like it.
The left will now tax you to death, no not just the rich – the rich aren’t rich enough to come up with all the money these fools are going to spend on their piggies as they take away your freedom and make you slaves. They will tax everyone except the 51% of the poor who will vote for them without question. They will give these poor people, the new all powerful elite, your money as payment for their votes. They are creating a majority of slaves who are totally dependent on the state and the Democratic Party for their existence – dependent on he money they receive from their socialist slave masters-= the money they stole from you.
Marxists and Socialists know the only way they can stay in power is to create and addicted majority by paying off these little piggies to keep them fat, docile and totally under the left’s control.
Get used to it – you asked for it. The life you knew, the happiness you pursued as an individual is nearly over. You will soon work to make their slaves fat and happy and nothing more.
Just hope they don’t round you up and have their Islamic Buddies cut your head off when you are broke and they have no use for you. – Socialists are prone to do this in a fit of rage after they have shaken you down for the last time and there is no more blood left in your turnip.

Having been to the Alaskan range, the Brooks range, the Rockies from Colorado on up into Canada, the Swiss Alps, not to mention the Appalachians, I would have to say calling the Appalachians “mountains” is a bit of a misnomer. I lived among, and on, hills just outside of Fairbanks near as big as the “mountains” here in the south. Now I don’t disagree with the fact that the Appalachians are pretty, nor do I say I don’t enjoy them. No, I have enjoyed them, pretty much ever since moving to North Georgia.
Now lets get one other thing straight….
I take issue with comparing any of the aforementioned mountains with Michael Moore. I like all of the larger mountain ranges I mentioned, miss all of them, and wouldn’t give you two cents to see Michael Moore. In fact, I’d just about pay you money not to ever see or hear about MM ever again. No comparison. Evar.

Liberalism (to me) is based on illogical assumptions as well as misguided and often selfish motives, among other things.
