Obama’s Clooney connection
The Daily Mail of London reports that Barack Obama and George Clooney supposedly have become fast friends, regularly texting, emailing, and phoning one another, with the Hollywood actor advising the presidential candidate on everything from body language to the Middle East. A “Democratic Party insider” told the Daily Mail:
“They are extremely close. … George has been giving him advice on things such as presentation, public speaking and body language and he also emails him constantly about policy, especially the Middle East.
“George is pushing him to be more ‘balanced’ on issues such as U.S. relations with Israel.
“George is pro-Palestinian. And he is also urging Barack to withdraw unconditionally from Iraq if he wins.
“It’s a very risky relationship. His hope of becoming America’s first black President depends heavily on winning over conservative voters and it would be suicidal for him to be perceived as a tool of a Hollywood Leftie, which is how they regard George.“
Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt calls the story “an inaccurate report.”

I think the sort of people who dislike George Clooney because he’s a liberal are already voting against Obama anyway. The “undecided middle” probably admires George Clooney, who is a fantastic actor and has the reputation of being a pretty classy guy. I don’t think the association would sway them for Obama, but I don’t think it will hurt him, either.

Sources say former Secretary of State Colin Powell will endorse Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention, Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol told FOX News exclusively on Thursday.
“He may well give a speech at the Democratic convention explaining his endorsement of Obama,” Kristol m a FOX News contributor, said, citing inside sources.
“This is not an absolute done deal, but these people are very confident that Powell will endorse Obama,” Kristol said, adding that he thinks Powell, a Republican, still has “a high respect” for John McCain, Obama’s Republican rival.

I have no doubt that that is in the bible. But biblical literalism in other fields would lead to the imposition of the death penalty for a variety of crimes, including sabbath breaking and not respecting your parents. Menstruating women would be considered unclean and have to be shunned. Our diets would all have to be radically altered, as would our clothing.
So, assuming that you don’t agree with those very clear biblical prescriptions, why do you insist that the same book be allowed to determine our foreign policy, and put us at risk of war with a variety of other countries?

Again Arcadia you don’t know the Scriptures. Those were laws in the Old Testament for the Jewish people. We are no longer under those laws. Some orthodox Jews still keep the law, but as Christian Believers we are not under those laws.
You’re throwing all sorts of things together, and it doesn’t make sense.
