Website update
NOTICE (August 22): The WORLD on the Web/WorldMagBlog site may be down for a couple of hours later today. It will come back up and be available this evening and throughout the weekend. You WILL be able to read posts and follow links, but you WILL NOT be able to comment, and there will be no new posts from us (except for announcements) until Monday morning on the new site. Also, new user registration will be closed until we open the new site on Monday. Updates concerning the new site will be posted here. For news updates, please visit WORLDmag.com. Thank you for your patience.
NOTICE (August 21): The WORLD on the Web/WorldMagBlog site will become inactive around 3 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, August 22.
On the evening of Friday, August 22, the current WORLD on the Web/WorldMagBlog site will become inactive. It will still be accessible, but you will not be able to post any comments, and no new articles will be posted to the site, except for an announcement directing you to the new site on Monday, August 25. During this downtime we’ll be transferring all the posts, comments, and user data from the old site to the new one.
The WORLDmag.com site will be up and running as usual over that weekend, but on Monday the 25th a new, upgraded version of its home page also will appear, which will include links to the new Community site featuring WorldMagBlog and the new Commentary section, with posts written by several popular WOW writers.
Remember, if you’re already registered on this site, your login and password will continue to work at the new WORLD Community site. There’ll be no need to reregister.
We’re excited about the new site and hope you are, too.
Please pray for all to go well during the transition. Thank you
For more details on WORLD’s website plans, click here.
ADDENDUM: Please note that once the new site becomes active anyone following a link to online.worldmag.com (as well as our old URL worldmagblog.com) will be redirected to the new site. But it still would be a good idea for you to update your links/bookmarks/favorites once we make the move. Also, anyone who subscribes to any of the WORLD on the Web/WorldMagBlog RSS feeds will need to resubscribe to the new site’s feeds once the new site is up and running. Thank you again for your cooperation and patience as we go through this transition.
NOTICE (August 21): The site will become inactive around 3 p.m. on Friday, August 22.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.
As I’ve said, I don’t pray. However, I advise everyone reading this to pray very hard, very often, and very sincerely. God knows what is really in your heart and it will all become visible on the new web site.
I told them not to do this. “Don’t do this,” I begged. “You really don’t want to do this.”
Be … etc.

What are you guys doing to me?! It took me a while to get used to this format & now you’re changing it again.
Random – I am afraid…very afraid.

Karen, let’s hold hands. It’s dark in here, and a litle scary.
Your husband? My wife? I’m sure they’ll understand that it’s completely innocent.

Isn’t there a presidential candidate running on the mantra of change? I hope this has nothing to do with that!
Hey, if it keeps me from having long posts lost while typing because of the software problems, I am all for it. But then, I switched to Firefox at home as well as at work, so I don’t have that problem any more.

We did fine when we moved to this format. We’ll do fine next weekend. Wasn’t there a thread on fear this week? Nothing bad has happened, and even if something untoward did happen, it can be remedied.

NJL – Thanks for your words of comfort.
Random – I just did my nails, so don’t smudge my nail polish.

Can we have a pull-down menu of really strong, virile adjectives? That would be quite convenient for me.

Ugh, I gotta change my links again. Why can’t the internet just slow down to my speed and quit changing?

What rea you talking about changing your links?

I think he means favorites or bookmarks.

As I mentioned in the July 30 announcement, anyone following a link to online.worldmag.com (as well as our old URL worldmagblog.com) will be redirected to the new site. But it still would be a good idea to update your links/bookmarks/favorites once we make the move.

Hang out with Tink, maybe?

O.T.- It is only for a weekend (8/22 – 8/25). You’ll survive. Perhaps you could visit some of the blogs of WMBers, like Pauline, or Random, or … mine.

Or mine.

#12 OT,
It sounds like a week rather than a week but when I was young a summer weekend was way more than a week.
Well, if you can move to a new website every year just for sport, I say no more keeping your old phone numbers either when you get a new phone. But, I am still keeping my carrier pigeons just in case prayers don’t work. If I don’t need them for communications with Chas, they will make a fine meal made the French way.
I could maybe invite Obama for French fried pigeon too, I know he loves everything Frenchie and that bean pole can’t eat too much. Since the Marxists got elected, refused to drill, raised my taxes, took all my money and I lost my job, I hardly have enough to eat as it is. Since Obama came off Saddleback Mountain he looks a lot more Evangelical and nearly Messiah like to me too. Knowing him, I’m surprised he didn’t go to find God on Brokeback Mountain through.
But, maybe I shouldn’t invite him for vittles, he just might bring some Fresh Fetus pie for desert.

Mark, should I post my rants and raves on your blog?

For those wishing to update their bookmarks to the new website address, as part of the McCain Action Team, I have the inside word. We are currently adding a second phone line to accommodate demand on our server. The address to bookmark is:

Here I sit, camped out in WorldMagBlog’s front yard, waiting for the commenting featured to be functional again.
Harrison, next time you post updates of this nature, please include a time stamp. That would be really helpful.
Chas, yes, you may rant and rave at my blog.
PS: I wrote the above around 6:30 am, Pacific Time.
PS, Jr: I monitored the blog for over an hour and gave up.
PS III: And I resumed monitoring it. And finally got this commenting form back around 2:48 pm.
