It’s not Pawlenty or Romney, speculation points to Palin
So far word about who John McCain has selected to be his running mate has not leaked out, but who it isn’t has. Tim Pawlenty says he’s not headed to Dayton, Ohio, today for McCain’s announcement: “I’m not going to be there. I plan to be at the state fair. You can draw your conclusion from that,” Pawlenty said on his radio show.
And Mitt Romney is not going to Dayton, either.
As for who it might be, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s name has risen again in the speculation. Marc Ambinder at The Atlantic.com tracks a plane from Alaska to Ohio.
Today, by the way, is McCain’s 72nd birthday.

I love Palin. Good pick. Pro-family, pro-life–and how can a mom of five NOT be tough and smart? My mom sure was.

Oh for the old days when reporters told us what happened, instead of speculating about what might be.

I really do believe that McCain has to do something radical to be noticed as something other as the campaign of “more of the same”. He either has to pick a woman such as Palin or reach left of center with Leiberman.
But, hey, what do I know about running a campaign?

I think Sarah Palin would be an excellent choice. Plus she has experience with being a governor.

McCain has to do something.
The Republicans couldn’t have picked a blander candidate.
Compared to the fawning treatment Obama is receiving he can’t pick another white male.

I agree. Palin would interject life and enthusiasm into this campaign.

I’d still love to see him pick Lieberman. That would be so sweet, to watch the neocons go down in flames.

Night Train, do you even know who a NEOCON is? They are people who were formally Liberal who have now become conservative. Case in Point. David Horowitz

OK, thanks Joe!

To Joe B. and Night Train
No, neocons is a code word for (mainly) Jewish people who want the U.S. to take out Israel’s enemies. Lieberman is just one example.
Think about it. The neocons are putting the interests of another country ahead of the interest of the U.S.

The leftist origin of the neo-cons is only evident in their concept of revolutionary change or drastic change and the primacy upon which they place economic theory. However the influence of Milton Friedman and the Chicago boys aligned the neo-cons with a more classical economical approach. In order to secure electoral victory the neo-cons adopted right wing morality even though it was inconsistent with their concept of economic freedom.

Llamas are gratified to be right once again and to prove beyond a shadow of the doubt that lefties who claimed this llama was nuts with his choice of Palin and that she was tainted by scandal are, as usual, weak minded and poor thinkers when it comes to anything worth knowing.
Obama was just turned into the next Teddy Kennedy or he is more Marxist than Teddy. I guessing that McCain will announce he running for 1 term and will train this fine lady over the next 4 years to be the first woman President of the USA.
The Dems have it backwards as usual. They have an inexperienced child as their front runner and the one ready to be president is the VP. They just can’t get anything right- but that is the one thing they are good at.

Hmm, interesting to note that the leftists are silent on this thread after McCain did indeed choose a solidly conservative and pro-life VP for his ticket. Hmm . . .
