I just had to imagine the headlines that prompted: ANAN CONCLUDES SELF-INVESTIGATION, CLEARS SELF OF WRONG-DOING CHARGES In seriousness, I've long thought that the Congress should have some sort of oversight on how much we give to and what we get from U.N. member states. Does anyone recall how the U.N. Sec General did and investigation and cleared himself of any wrong-doing in the infamous “Oil for Food” scandal? I just had to imagine the headlines that prompted:

Some would claim it was never useful to begin with. No action to halt Syrian aggression against Lebanon, or the brutal attack on East Timor or any number of tribe-against-tribe genocides in Africa (ie Rwanda). I wholeheartedly agree that the whole lot of them should be relocated to any one of the 3rd World impoverished one-party states. They clog up NYC streets with their vehicles and dont have to pay traffic citations. It does seem to be an institution which has long since worn out its usefulness.
