Dems and the box office
Box office sales are higher for Hollywood when a Democrat is president, according to Nielsen Wire, a market analysis company.
From 1980 to 2007, box office sales grew by 2.8%, on average, during Democratic administrations, while average sales growth under Republican administrations was just 1%, according to research released Monday by Nielsen PreView.
Overall, in the past three decades, movie sales have grown almost three times faster during Democratic administrations than during GOP administrations, according to Nielsen.
Does this mean audiences had more money to spend during Democratic administrations? Or that people escaped to the movies more often then? Or are these numbers just coincidence?

I don’t know about that. I’ve gone to a heck of a lot more movies during the Bush years than I did during the Clinton reign. It’s been a good escape from the misery of the last 8 years. And I’ve seen some pretty awful movies!

One could argue that folks like me trot to the multiplex to get lost in the fantasy world constructed by the dealers in celluloid. And isnt it neat how stories of homelessness disappear from the MSM when a Dem is in WH.

JUst a statistic, but I sugges we compare the types of movies that get made during the eras of each administration before we read too much into the raw data.
