Final pre-election “SNL”
John McCain’s appearance on “Saturday Night Live” didn’t quite draw the numbers Sarah Palin’s did two weeks ago, but he didn’t do all that bad. An estimated 12 million people tuned in to see the Republican candidate pair up with Tina Fey during the opener and do a turn on “Weekend Update.” It was the show’s second-best ratings night in the past 11 years. Palin’s appearance drew 15 million viewers.
At a campaign stop in Ohio yesterday, Palin recommended that Fey hold on to her lookalike wardrobe: “She’s going to be needing it in the next four years.
NBC is airing a two-hour “SNL Presidential Bash 2008″ tonight at 9 Eastern. The show will feature political sketches from this year’s campaign as well as blasts from the past.

The sketch where they ripped Keith Olbermann was HILARIOUS!

I really liked that John made fun of his co-sponsored legislation with Russ “Fine Gold”.
UUhhh….TJ, somehow I feel like I missed the Olbermann sketch.

I was hoping to see it posted here. However, I can always rely on good ole YouTube.

I wasn’t planning on posting the entire show here.
But if you’re interested in Ben Affleck’s take on MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann, click here.

Clever remark on Ms. Palin’s part. Since we only hear negative things about her on the news, we don’t really know how she’s gone over with real voters, just the MSM. Let’s hope she’s right about Tina Fey’s wardrobe.
I enjoyed the QVC skit. McCain has some comedic talent there. It’s always good to be able to laugh at yourself.

I thought the Olberman clip was a real newscast until I saw the cat on the table.

Something’s wrong. Mickey’s comment was there before I saw the clip. And it isn’t 8:32 yet.

I just switched the time stamp to EST, so the system bumped my comment up an hour from when I posted it. The comments on this thread are now in the correct order.

If SNL ever going to go after Obama?
They are so afraid of being called “racist” that they did a sketch last week with Biden and John Murtha rather than Biden and Obama.

They have done a number of sketches with Obama. But let’s face it: Obama (and to some degree McCain) does not lend himself to parody nearly as much as Palin and Biden.

“A real maverick; A Republican without money.”
that got a chuckle out of me. And so did the “Sad Granpa” act.
The rest of it was a little flat I thought…
Affleck was hilarious though. I wish I had seen Olbermann in action before. I probably would have been on the floor laughing with a side ache…

TO DC Lawyer:
Are you serious? True, SNL had done a few sketches about Obama but they have been very generic and basically focus on Obama’s halting way of speech.

“Obama…does not lend himself to parody nearly as much…”
Only the One could describe feeling “a righteous wind behind him.”
Most of us, when we let loose, try to blame it on someone else.
