Sarah selects Lynn
Last week we posted the news that Sarah Palin was going to write a setting-the-record-straight memoir and that she would work with a collaborator. In the comment thread there was a bit of speculation as to who might be in line for the job, with KRM asking, “Lynn – are you putting your resume in for this assignment?” Well as a matter of fact, she did, and the book’s publisher, HarperCollins, announced today that Gov. Palin has selected our own Lynn Vincent to be that collaborator.
Congratulations, Lynn!

CONGRATULATIONS LYNN Can I order a copy now?

I know once and for all the entire world will have the juicy news about the state trooper Ms Palin axed merely because this lawman was tazing children. Enough already. Lets designate a special prosecutor with a bottomless budget to uncover the truth. Americans deserve to know.
Report comment to moderator
Wow! Congrats indeed, Lynn. But you seem to me like just the right person for the job. (BTW, if you get more job offers than you can use, I’ve done some collaborating jobs, nothing of this scope, and would be interested in doing this sort of writing work myself!)
Report comment to moderator
Word is Tony Woodlief nixed the job when it was offered to him. “Well, ya got anyone else at WORLD who can write well?”
“You betcha we do by golly!”
Meanwhile Joe Biden announced he wasnt sure whose autobiography he was going to plagiarize but a decision should be forthcoming.
Report comment to moderator
I’ll await the Reader’s Digest version. Should be pretty cheap on Amazon dotcom within about a month of release date.
Report comment to moderator
Joe Biden was thinking of plagarizing George Bush’s, autobiography but it wasn’t interesting enough, so he chose Bill Clinton’s instead.
Report comment to moderator
Way to go Lynn!!! Are you going to give us a sneak preview?
Report comment to moderator
While Vincent works with Palin on her memoir, she will take a leave of absence from her writing for WORLD and its online counterpart, WorldMagBlog.
So, we won’t have Lynn to second-guess anymore
Report comment to moderator
Lucky Lynn, the summer in Alaska is glorious. And all those fun things to do for the boys!
Then again, if she gets behind, the winter is miserable, right MIM?
Congrats.
Report comment to moderator
Lynn: Congrats! Did you negotiate a hefty wardrobe allowance?
Report comment to moderator
Congratulations!
RPN will go beserk over this.

What would be a good title for the book? I see a contest brewing.

Two beautiful women + the truth = One great best-seller!
All the best to you, Lynn.
Report comment to moderator
What no scepter any more? It just won’t be the same.
Really: Lynn has the emotional and writing chops for this assignment. Heck! I might even check out the book from the library …
Congratulations. This is really terrific news.
Report comment to moderator
Congratulations. (How much did she pay?)
Just joking. That’s private, for sure.
Report comment to moderator
Congratulations, Lynn.
As I’ve said before, I thought Palin a terrible VP choice, but I’d like to hear the matter in her own words. Certainly editing is to be expected, but I hope Lynn has more integrity than to just favorably rewrite Palin’s book.
I guess I’m suspicious that this will end up as just a ghost-written PR piece meant to salvage Palin’s reputation. I won’t judge it before it’s out, but those are my concerns.
Report comment to moderator
WAY TO GO, LYNN!!!
We’ll miss ya. Make us proud.
Report comment to moderator
btw, I don’t say that (#16) because Lynn is the editor. In fact, Lynn as editor goes some way towards ameliorating that concern. But not too far, because I think PR requirements and political allegiances are powerful forces for even an honest editor to contend with.

After reading the Michael English book that Lynn did such a nice job with, it seemed that it ought to be a good pairing.
I am happy to see that others agreed.

JJF says. “As I’ve said before, I thought Palin a terrible VP choice”. Biden mekes me wish we had Palin.

PS: I don’t like the term collaborator much. Weren’t they hung or shot during WWII? (Last I heard, they still are in the West Bank and Gaza.)
Report comment to moderator
Biden does come across as a little bit of a goober, but so far it seems like a PR problem more than a policy problem. In terms of policy and actual powers, I’ve heard little of him, good or bad.
Only two things come to mind: (1) Obama put him in charge of some kind of “see that the middle class get their slice of the pie” committee; (2) he blabbed the location of
Dick Cheney’s secret lairthe VP safe bunker.Report comment to moderator

Having read Lynn, this doesn’t surprise me at all. It’s a perfect match.

You are bound to be disappointed.

16, Indeed, Lynn, don’t do anything crazy; like confuse the issue with facts.

Anyway it will be cool when the book goes on the best seller list to say, I sorta, kinda know her.

Bravo Zulu Lynn. Like Chas, I would like to know if I can reserve a copy. Maybe you could get your old shipmate a signed copy.

Muchas Congratulones !!!!!!! If you have any influence over Sarah please advise her to become a Rush 24/7 subscriber and that when they next ask her what she reads she can reply the Limbaugh Letter. I loved the choice of Sarah . She was not exactly aware of the duplicity of the nationwide drive by media. I hope she has learned that our ‘mainstream media’ is not interested in truth but that truth is the only policy. For me the only drawback for Sarah is that she did not have a stronger understanding of just how bad the Democrats in Congress and the media are. She would greatly benefit from listening to Rush. He is open honest and backs up everything he says. She should also call him more. His radio program reaches lots of the people she wants to reach.

Hi You Guys!
Hey, thanks for all your great comments and support!
I’m looking forward to this project and I’ll drop in time to time to say hi. Meanwhile, Mickey has the virtual scepter…I’ll be taking the real one to Alaska — if that’s okay with MIM.
Report comment to moderator
You know, if you take off her glasses, the once VP candidate resembles our Benevolent Dictator. So, who will be the temporary wielder of the scepter? Please assign someone before Victoria dusts off her bong. PLEASE!

Oh, I should have refreshed before that last part. Sorry. Thank you Lynn!
Oh, and here is genuine Puerto Rican blend Bustelo coffee, often used for espresso.

It’s tooooo late, I found my silver bong with the gold ball at the end, with silver tassel, I’ve shinned it till it glows. I also have my pink strappy heels, although the color this year is orange, so I just might go out and buy a pair this afternoon, since I have a brand new orange patent handbag.
So…. poor Peter, you’re toooo late
Report comment to moderator
Maybe I should send Sarah and Lynn a pair of the latest patent strappy heels – lets see, should they be hot pink, or orange?
Report comment to moderator
Ooooh! I forgot about the Pink Pumps Putsch that almost occurred when Lynn was out with the kissing disease.
Report comment to moderator
WOW!!!!!! I am looking forward to this because I know it will be fundamentally fair! And even moreso, honest!
Lynn, we wish both you and Ms. Palin much success!
(And I hope Lynn gets some good outfits out of the deal. Victoria, send a pair of each color and let the ladies fight it out.)
Report comment to moderator
Chas, I hope you still have those pink flip-flops you were awared last year when you caused so much trouble.
Since Sarah likes red heels, I’m sure she will love either hot pink or orange high heeled sandals, and so will Lynn.
Report comment to moderator
At least orange is more to my liking! I could see it now, the two of them on Oprah or Leno, wearing those bright orange heels. Go for it, Victoria! Just keep the bong put away since Lynn assigned Mickey the task. Usurpers not allowed!
Report comment to moderator
Hey NJL, good idea – I would just love to hear their conversations. I have a hunch they’re both going to have TOO MUCH FUN -

Those two on Oprah or Leno? – TOGETHER? – now that’s a visual – They’ll bring down the house!

Lynn/Sarah: When you go on Oprah, The View, etc. on your book tour, remember:
These people are NOT your friends.
Report comment to moderator
Oh yes, Lynn! By all means, do take the sceptre! It is yours to do with as you wish. If you do get it signed, please post pictures! Say hello from a former Alaskan, and please give our best to Sarah.
I offered to make Mickey a Mace of Power, but so far, he has declined to respond…
As far as being miserable stuck there for the winter? Depends on whether you go snowmobiling, dog sledding, skiing, ice-fishing or stay cooped up in the house doesn’t it? Of course there’s no controlling the temps or the ice fog.
Report comment to moderator
Victoria, I have the feeling that you are right about them having too much fun! Anyone who has red heels like Sarah’s will be fun.
I don’t see Oprah able to converse with these women for some odd reason. I just don’t think they’re on the same plane. I was home this afternoon before going back to the office, and I saw a few minutes of Oprah. She seemed irrelevant to me.
Report comment to moderator
Lynn will have to report on how moose tastes.
Report comment to moderator
NJL – “irrelevant” – that’s putting it mildly.
Report comment to moderator
NJL,
Sarah Palin made ‘moose chili’ for Greta on FOX, she loved it – did you catch the program? – it was a good one.
Report comment to moderator
No, I am too cheap for cable. But I think she made the same dish for Matt Lauer.
So, when Palin is President, will Lynn be her speechwriter? Will CherylD?
No book will ever have as many prayers behind it!
Report comment to moderator
Sarah is a wonderful topic for an honest book. Just be aware that no matter what you write the drive by media will be out to ‘get you’. But once the book is on the shelves the American people will vote with their dollars. And then you will know that Palin is important with all of us. Palin was not the wrong running mate. McCain was. My prayers are with you Lynn. If Palin wants a team of speech writers I would volunteer.
Report comment to moderator
NJL
You never know, Lynn is a talented woman –
And YES, I will be praying.
Report comment to moderator
NJL – you have to get cable TV – I have about 20 channels on my cell phone, one of them is FOX.

I was just thinking: I bet Lynn Vincent can hardly wait to get away from this zoo. (I could be wrong.)

Wow, is that Lynn on the left? She’s prettier than Sarah!
Report comment to moderator
She’s prettier than Sarah!
And maybe even more committed to intentionally blending fact with fiction in defense of all things GOP. (i.e., smart enough to know better, unlike her collaborator)
Should be interesting.
Report comment to moderator
Spinning again Spin? – you unintentionally intentionally blending a fictional scenario again? – who would have ever guessed.
Report comment to moderator
Spin,
JUST BUY THE BOOK!
Then you can comment on it.
Maybe Lynn and Sara will autograph it for you like they will for me.
But I came here to say that NewsMax is already advertising an “authorized” biography of Sara Palin. It’s paperback.
And Xion is right. Only Lynn looks kinda angry. They’ll be great on the talkshows together. If they do it that way.
The way things work today, I suspect Lynn will spend minimum time in Alaska. They will likely have their personal phone and computer connections. But they have to be careful of bugs and phone taps. Lots of people would want “Heads Up” on what’s being said.
Be Paranoid Lynn,
Be paranoid.
Report comment to moderator
Lynn looks kinda angry.
Perhaps the pic was taken right after the last scepter bonk.

JUST BUY THE BOOK!
Nah – what could it possibly have in it that I need to know? Palin’s side of issues I care little about in the first place? (Her wardrobe, grandma-hood, the real educational value of proximity to Russia, etc.) It’s all just part of Palin-2012-propaganda.
I agree Lynn was a good choice, though – she is committed to GOP propaganda, and she’s a lot less disgusting than Rush Limbaugh. But then, I don’t listen to Rush Limbaugh.
Well good luck with all that! I really do support the idea of Palin for the GOP 2012 nomination!! Really, I do! May I suggest something like this for a logo: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2h6yet5&s=3
And please do campaign on gay marriage as a wedge issue. 2012 should be a great time for that! How ’bout Carrie Prejean for VP? You could make P/VP pageant sashes that say Mrs. USA President and Miss USA VP! As they wave to the crowd wearing sleeveless gowns they shout, “Standing up for the right to bare arms.”
ok – I should stop now …

Lynn was chosen to be Gov. Palin’s collaborator, not her mentor. Don’t underestimate Sarah Palin, she’s to be admired for her courage and stance during the flogging the press and liberal left, threw her way.
Lynn Vincent is an excellent writer, she is an advocate for PRO-LIFE and other issues, I’m very happy she was the choice – both women have a great wit, that should serve them well as they endeavor to work together on this book.
Report comment to moderator
I do hope that either Lynn or Sarah calls Rush when the book is ready.
One brief mention on the radio show would be worth…. oh. maybe a million books. Something like that
But seriously many of the people who would love to buy the book may not know of this blog. And since Rush has said so many nice things about Sarah it seems only courteous to call him up and talk with him on the air about the book.(Rush’s program is the world’s most listened to talk show.)
Report comment to moderator
Monty, you may remember the time when Rush was telling about how he was catching a cold, and his flight attendant told him to try some Zicam. He did, and it knocked out his cold and suddenly a product I had never heard of became a standard cold remedy.
I see that World has a spot on his program. Cal Thomas is spokesman.
