I am always really glad to hear of artists using their talents in a creative, bold way to speak truth but not doing it in cliched ways. This is an awesome exhibit!

I am not sure about TKF's definition of a sacred place.
A sacred space can be made by man or nature. Gettysburg for example.
Some look at a church that has become dilapidated and think , "How sad." I look at the building and think that all the birds have hatched left the nest to minister to the rest of the world. The old building is the monument to the work and worshiping that had been done there.

What an interesting exhibit. Maybe a better way to think of the old church is not as a place that has failed, but as a seedbed. Sometimes even the best places die. The old church becomes a place where grace might yet poke through.

Thanks for the story.

What's so sacred about man-made buildings anyway ???

Here's a better way to preserve "sacred space."

Link: The TKF Foundation - The TKF Foundation is a private grant-making foundation whose purpose is to create "Open Spaces, Sacred Places". It partners with organizations to create sacred places ... [that] foster the development of human spirituality and are open and accessible to people of all beliefs, faiths and cultures.
