I think you mean al-queda not Al-jazeera which is the news channel.

By ‘idol worshipers’ is also meant Christians because Christians love the cross.

Although Islam counts Christian as people of the book, they view Christianity as leaning far too close to polytheism with its doctrine of the Trinity, hence their criticism of Christianity. Icons and relics in the eastern tradition may also pose problems.

However, there are a lot of Muslims and a lot of Christians, so I am not sure how much all the glorious generalizations flying around here apply to members of either group. I guess Al Qaeda is so Dark Ages minded that they do not want others to have modern technology? That seems hypocritical, as they use modern tech to get their message out.
