Thanks, Monty. I'll take that as your admission you can't back up your false claim.

RPN, I am very honest with you. Your ‘missing things’ and then asking others to fill you in would be fine if you were polite about it. But your verbiage has been rude and I feel no need to educate you.
Your lack of attention is no indication that I need to baby you along. You should be better than that. Expect better of yourself. I certainly expect better from a ‘grown up’.

As for Palin, one thing that truly stumps me is why the obsession with her on the left? I hear it at work as well, there’s just this odd (to me) fascination and hatred of her. I can’t really figure that one out.

Donna,
Some people were taught manners and reasons for manners when they were young. Some were never taught. Some feel that now that they are ‘adult’ they can be rude as adults. Others have had numerous excuses for being less than humane. There are countless other frailties that come into play. I lump them all together for convenience by seeing that liberalism is often akin to drug addiction. Similar motivations, same results.
In general I meet them with graciousness but with respect for the truth. I can love them and still see them as addicts. They can only understand things at a certain level. Then they try to rend you. The trick is to know before hand at what level they might try to rend you. They are often out to rend someone. (Matthew 7:6)

Brother Monty, It would be more honest if you spared us the personal attacks and gibberish about furniture, and instead provided information to substantiate your support of the dubious claim made about Baby Palin being mocked. I realize the latter may be beneath someone of your elite stature and presumed brilliance, and for that I apologize. However, I still don't believe you even one little bit.

Donna,
From what you have been saying it sounds like you were experiencing outrage. And since you are usually a very reserved person in these types of encounters you felt uncomfortable telling them what you told them. I can appreciate both the outrage and the uncomfortableness.
Emotions ,per se, are not bad. They are truly neither evil nor good. You need not fear your own emotions. They are a part of us. To be controlled at times. To be given more reign at others. Of all the emotions considered ‘negative’ outrage is the best for motivation. When we know that something is bad, something is wrong we get outraged. It belongs to us to fix whatever is wrong. We need a repertoire of responses. Then we need to ask God to help us pick from that repertoire. (Exodus 7:2)(Romans 8:28)
Your friends may actually like you better that you showed some back bone. They may respect you more knowing they can’t just get you to accept their premise without challenge. You are no longer their door mat.
If a friend of mine cannot take me disagreeing with them then our friendship is diminished. That I can challenge them is a sign of respect. Me for them. Them for me. Self respect both ways. And mutual respect for our relationship. Two minds are not better than one if one mind can’t disagree.
The uncomfortableness comes from the experience because it is counter to what you are used to. To what you expect. It is akin to tribulation.. a much milder form of it. In our current times more than any other in the history of our country we will all be feeling tribulation. Expect to be more and more uncomfortable whether you confront evil or not. (2 Chronicles 32:7)

Rpn, the world does not exist to satisfy you nor your rudeness. Get up off of whatever it is you sit upon (whether it be 'love seat' or spiked chair ) and look around you.

"And perhaps you saw where they had valid points as well? "

Very few with Bush. The guy was a disaster and left a mess we will be coming to terms with for generations. Believe it or not, I actually liked the guy in the beginning.

"OK, I have to tell you, I can’t get used to seeing you looking like a winking Sarah."

Get used to it  At least it's not the bikini shot.
