President Obama is appearing in Texas today with our 41st president, George H.W. Bush for a forum at Texas A&M.

MSNBC’s First Read offers this thought:

Bush 41 was a system guy, whether it was working with Congress or simply playing the Washington game, he set up his White House to be cooperative, not combative. Obama has shown similar traits. On one hand, it’s a recipe for getting things down in Washington, on the other hand, it’s also way to look TOO Washington and end up being out of touch, the exact issues that made Bush 41 a one-term president.

At this early point in Obama’s presidency he’s been compared to a lot of different presidents. But this is at least food for thought.
