Sounds like Rahab, “in the same world” made a critical choice..

“By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.” (Heb 11:30-31)

Some of my ancestors were Russian Jews. I was never that interested in the family tree and its stories, but my impression is that they weren’t treated all that well by their Christian neighbors.

Also, by the way, with all due respect, I don’t believe that people are born of virgins and I don’t believe anyone has actually risen from the dead. I know you believe Jesus Christ was the Son of God, and that he was born of a virgin, and rose from the dead. This makes it difficult for us to find common ground, but here we are in the same world.

The reason it applies to the 21st c., is because individual human beings are still spirit, soul, and body…

…and fallen spiritually, by nature.

That includes scientists who couldn’t create 1 living cell of anything, even if their lives depended on it…

…not even an acorn, out of crushed acorn powder.

Of course all of the Bible is infallible.

Surely you don’t fall for some fallen sinner, non-ominiscient, clipboarded, historianite pronouncing “ex cathedra”s on Biblical events, do you?

“Historians” in the days of Jesus Christ should have been listening with a little more precision..

As far as ditch dwelling is concerned, I have long praised the Lord for taking me out of the ditch and bringing my feet solid on the path to eternal life. But, as a Christian, what do I know, only that the blood of Christ has washed my sins away and for that I am grateful.

Some of the wars and battles described in the Bible may refer to real events. Much of what is written in the Bible is myth. Much of it represents the best thinking of the time as far as ethics and morality and governance go. As such it is a remarkable document.

The idea that it provides a huge amount of guidance for our problems in the 21st Century is dubious to me. However, as a nihilist, what do I know? As people who take old myths as inerrant, what do you know?

I think this web site exemplifies the idea of the halt leading the blind, and all of them falling into a ditch.
