When it comes to ME related foreign policy, Washington Post was no diffrent to NY Times, or Wall Street Journal. they all saw invasion of Iraq who had done nothing to US as sane, rational, moral and justified. In case you have not consulted a map lately, Iran is also in the Middle East. Any surprise why Washington Post is hawkish on Iran too? So, while extending a hand is very nice, a little less of the following will be helpful too: Military presence in the region Aid to Jundullah Aid to PJAK etc. Article IV of the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Treaty (NPT) states: ”Nothing in this Treaty shall be interpreted as affecting the inalienable right of all the Parties to the Treaty to develop research, production and use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes without discrimination and in conformity with Articles I and II of this Treaty.” http://www.iaea.org/Publications/Documents/Infcircs/Others/infcirc140.pdf In a September 17, 2009 press statement, IAEA stated: ”With respect to a recent media report, the IAEA reiterates that it has no concrete proof that there is or has been a nuclear weapon programme in Iran.” http://www.iaea.org/NewsCenter/MediaAdvisory/2009/MA200919.html Also for a reality check see http://www.bibijon.org/iranimage/ This is middle east policy we are talking about.
