Presidential humor breakthrough? Part 2
Last week we noted that The Onion finally decided to make light of the president, and this weekend Saturday Night Live really let him have it. Normally I’d post the video (or at least a link), but since this is a family site and the sketch is a bit, shall we say, “sexually explicit,” I won’t do so. You’ll either have to take my word for it or seek it out yourself. I can say this: The sketch featured a press conference with President Obama and Chinese President Hu Jintao, where the Chinese leader sarcastically expressed his displeasure with Obama’s free spending and our ever-increasing deficit, especially in light of our huge debt to China.
Of course, to be “fair and balanced” the SNL writers later in the show had to take a swipe at Sarah Palin with a spoof movie trailer for 2012. But hey, at least they also poked a little fun at those suffering Palin-derangement syndrome, noting who was behind the “film”: “The DNC presents from the mind of Keith Olbermann.”
Meanwhile, the opening sketch makes me wonder: Has America’s left-leaning humor writers finally decided to let loose and take on the man occupying the White House?

Obama (and, in fact, the entire bizarre assortment of freaks, perverts and lunatics currently in the Socialist/Democrat constellation in D.C.) is indeed a rich and largely untapped mine of comedic material.
Untapped, of course, because the State-controlled media and the State-controlled entertainment industry, by and large, identify fully with him and hence are unable to articulate anything which even faintly pokes fun at him.
The more interesting (though related) question is why Leftists and Statists (in general) seem to be intrinsically unable to laugh at themselves.
One personal observation: I have found (on an individual basis) that arrogant, selfish, narcissistic people tend to be unable to laugh at themselves.
This would seem, if extrapolated, to imply that Leftists are therefore . . . that they are . . . no, no, it could not be that.
Surely not.

SNL and other comedy shows are not ridiculing his looks or verbal stumbles anymore as much as his policies.

I think Palin rec’d pretty fair treatment from Barbara Walters in her interview(s) which were spread among several shows on ABC (at least the ones I saw). From what I could surmise Sarah would rather be at home with the family. I hope that is true. I still feel that is where a wife and mother should be.
Either God will provide someone to help us, or as we felt when Clinton was in office–we DESERVE him. Why do WE think we DESERVE any better than someone like Obama?

They dare satirize The Annointed One? Doesnt that make them racists? Have Mssrs Sharpton and Jackson been notified?
Oh the horror!
Oh the humanity!

I really miss Reagan’s warm self-disparaging humor.

I think the 2012 skit is funny, especially the surprise vice president.

For Bush’s entire term, Slate Magazine (MSN’s online commentary) treated us to Bushisms, a collection of idiotic verbal gaffes by W. There were a LOT, and most were hilarious. They were later compiled into a book.
In the interest of bipartisanship, they now bring us Bidenisms. These promise to be equally side-splitting. Biden has terminal foot-in-mouth disease.
Why do people who cannot manage the English language run for office?

Since this is the HUMOR thread….
I just rec’d an email that shows real mug shots of 15 people. All are wearing either Obama t-shirts or Obama stickers. With the following:
“Just think about this for a second:
Did you ever see anyone arrested wearing a Bush T-shirt, or for you older guys, an Eisenhower, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, or even Nixon, or Bob Dole shirt?
Obama must be proud of his supporters.”

Maybe the whole purpose for Biden is so people are focused on what Biden is saying and not what Obama is doing.
I love the cartoon of Biden talking about where the new jobs are located.

Wonder why they don’t bring us teleprompterisms, otherwise known as ‘Obamaisms’?
Obama’s teleprompter comes up with some of the most asinine comments in the history of the Republic -
“We are the ones we have been waiting for”
“The reforms we seek would bring greater competition, choice, savings and inefficiencies to our health care system.”
“I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any seances”
“The morality of killing children is above my paygrade”
“My statements were mis-calibrated”
“I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody”.
“What I was suggesting — you’re absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith”
“Let me be absolutely clear. Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. It will be a strong friend of Israel’s under a McCain…administration. It will be a strong friend of Israel’s under an Obama administration.”
“On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience here today — our sense of patriotism is particularly strong”
“I’ve now been in 57 states — I think one left to go”
“My grandmother was a typical white person”
Why can’t I just eat my waffle?” –after being asked a foreign policy question by a reporter while visiting a diner in Pennsylvania
Come on! I just answered, like, eight questions.” –exasperated by reporters after a news conference
“Rev. Wright is my spiritual mentor”
I think he needs to fire his teleprompter.

Speaking of Biden…
Does anyone else wonder why the Pres. & VP are seen together a lot? Aren’t they supposed to be in separate places all the time? We are at war. Even tho the Dems will tell us “We are of peace, always.”
Is that a Hillary plan? –So they are both taken out at the same time?

How many votes do you think Pelosi would get if she tried to run against Hillary for Pres. after the term was up?
Report comment to moderator
All except one – although a few may be slightly variant due to an imperfect memory on my part.
RE the one:
When asked by Rick Warren where he stood on the morality of abortion, Obama replied that it was ‘above his paygrade’.
I translated that to say “the morality of killing children is above my paygrade”.

Well, Random Name, I have to hold back. I would not want you to drown in a sea of adjectives and colorful descriptive phrases.
Just choke and splutter a bit, but not entirely drown.
I certainly don’t want THAT on my conscience.

OK, the Palin 2012 was funny. They did a very good job.
The SNL skit on the otherhand, was pathetic. It was great in the back and forth, and the translater bit was funny. But the sexual “humor” (I use scare quotes because it wasn’t) was completely unnecessary and sick. I really don’t like Obama at all, but even I see that as disgusting. Like school in the summertime. No class. Just one more reason to skip TV.
And Mickey,
Seriously? You throw up a post about it. You give a tease about what’s in it. And then you throw out a disclaimer about family site so you won’t post a link? Seriously? Why even bring it up then? It certainly wasn’t some newsworthy event like the Clinton Scandal where details were kinda necessary. It is below you and World to throw up crap like this. We should be better than this. We shouldn’t give them the benefit of mentioning them at all. When stuff like this gets so much play, guess what happens? It becomes the norm. We should have no part in settling for that kind of lowering of standards. I’m sorry if I sound ungrateful for all you folks here at World do. That isn’t my intent. Just to remind you guys to keep your high standards of whats news and whats nonsense. Your standards are what distinguish World from most other news sites. It’s what makes you better.

Having just seen 2012 the clip was funny to me because it illustrated the sort of feminized hysteria so typical of the left these days. The world coming to an end because of Sarah Palin—good grief, some of them actually think this way. It’s the other side of the coin to this reaction about Obama: Chris Matthews swoons:
“My, I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don’t have that too often.”
Considering the sway of feminists, homosexuals and emasculated males in the Democrat Party, this is not surprising—ridiculous and pathetic, but not at all surprising.

KBells is right, the clip on 2012 is funny and Pelosi would come afer Biden. I know which event I’d be afraid of.

What does the 2012 clip portray, except that electing a Republican would be death to the planet and the end of life as we know it?
As for the SNL skits on Obama, has anyone ever noticed that he is always portrayed as more honest and honorable than Obama himself?
The real Obama says he saved 1 million jobs, whereas his character cites the correct number, namely zero. The fake Obama doesn’t exaggerate, but is willing to admit his failures. I wish we had elected the fake one who is far more reasonable and wise than the real one.
The right is always portrayed simultaneously as knuckle dragging buffoons and diabolical masterminds seeking world domination. The left is obviously just spewing whatever hateful thing they can think of. It doesn’t have to be even slightly consistent.
The Onion sketch only mildly poked fun at Obama. While he runs America aground on the rocks, progressives continue to worship their cultist leader.

24. I took the 2012 clip as portraying that the DNC and Keith Olbermanm thinks that electing a Republican would be death to the planet and the end of life as we know it?

Objectively, entertainment like the Palin clip is probably wise: left-wing people will interpret it as making fun of Palin and the right-wing people, and right-wing people will interpret it as making fun of the left-wing people. Everyone’s happy.
