Romney takes Florida
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Mitt Romney won a commanding victory in the Florida primary Tuesday night, rebounding from defeat and taking a significant step toward the Republican presidential nomination. Despite the setback, Newt Gingrich vowed to press on.
Returns from 38 percent of Florida’s precincts showed Romney with 48 percent of the vote, to 31 percent for Gingrich.
Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum had 13 percent, and Texas Rep. Ron Paul 7 percent. Neither mounted a substantial effort in the state.
The winner-take-all primary was worth 50 Republican National Convention delegates.

Would someone please explain to me why FL GOP would forego half its delegates (from 99 to 50) as a penalty for holding its primary before Super Tuesday?

They scheduled their primary too early and the GOP bigwigs didn’t like it. Noses are out of joint. Guess they wanted one big show. They have to grow up. Just vote.

I’m glad Romney won. I wanted to suggest that by bucking the RNC, FL GOP was figuratively seceding from the national scene and I wonder if that’s good, bad or indifferent – if it will have been worth it in the larger scheme of things this year. Maybe they should’ve just been grown ups and vote in a united national plan. I have mixed feelings on this. When is the time to join forces?

Do you really care what the GOP bigwigs think? Aren’t we all tired of being manipulated?

No, just the delegate count. We have a couple years to figure out how to argue and reschedule primary election dates for 2016. I don’t think it’s fair that states knowingly sacrificed delegates in opposition to an already agreed upon plan. We have enough problems.

As Pastor Roy says
Romney 2 States
Newt 1 State
RS 1 State
RP 0 States and America loses
